Foldish: A Display Font for Bold Branding

As I sat down to finalize the visuals for a seasonal product launch, the challenge was clear: how to make the campaign stand out in a sea of digital noise. The brand needed a font that felt fresh, memorable, and visually engaging. That’s when I landed on Foldish—a papercut-style display typeface that brings a tactile, handcrafted energy to every design.

Foldish isn’t just a font; it’s a visual language. Each character is shaped like a hand-cut paper fragment, with uneven angles, irregular edges, and folded-like geometry that creates a sense of movement and depth. It’s the kind of font that catches your eye and makes you want to look closer, perfect for campaigns where first impressions matter most.

Foldish for Instagram Posts and Social Media Graphics

When designing the Instagram content series for a new line of eco-friendly home goods, I knew the typography had to reflect the brand’s commitment to sustainability and craftsmanship. Foldish offered the right balance of creativity and clarity. Its organic, slightly chaotic structure gave the posts a handmade feel, while still maintaining legibility on mobile screens.

I used Foldish for headline text in carousel posts, pull quotes, and story overlays. The font’s unique shapes made each post feel distinct, helping the brand stand out in a crowded feed. For smaller text, I paired it with a clean sans serif to ensure readability without sacrificing style.

Foldish for YouTube Thumbnails and Reels Covers

YouTube thumbnails are the first thing viewers see before clicking. They need to be bold, eye-catching, and instantly recognizable. When creating thumbnails for a new video series, I turned to Foldish for the title text. Its papercut aesthetic added a layer of visual interest that made the thumbnails more engaging.

The font’s irregular edges worked well against both dark and light backgrounds, ensuring the text remained visible even at small sizes. I also experimented with different weights and alternates to find the best fit for each thumbnail, adjusting spacing and alignment to maintain a cohesive look across the channel.

Foldish for Web Design and Landing Pages

For a client’s landing page promoting a new online course, I needed a font that could command attention without overwhelming the user. Foldish was the perfect choice for the main headline. Its dynamic, hand-cut appearance added a creative flair that aligned with the course’s theme of innovation and self-expression.

I made sure to test the font on various screen sizes and backgrounds, adjusting the contrast and spacing as needed. The result was a landing page that felt modern yet approachable, with a visual identity that stood out from competitors.

Foldish for Email Banners and Promotional Content

Email marketing requires a balance between aesthetics and functionality. When designing an email banner for a limited-time sale, I used Foldish for the headline to draw attention and create a sense of urgency. The font’s irregular shapes added a playful, artistic touch that felt more personal than a standard sans serif.

To keep the design clean, I paired Foldish with a simple serif font for the body text. This combination allowed the headline to shine while ensuring the rest of the message remained easy to read. The result was an email that felt both professional and inviting, encouraging recipients to take action.

Foldish for Branded Templates and Campaign Assets

When building a set of branded templates for a client’s social media team, I incorporated Foldish into the header designs for posts, stories, and ads. Its papercut style gave the templates a cohesive, creative look that the team could easily apply across different platforms.

I also used Foldish for campaign labels, such as “Sale,” “New Arrivals,” and “Limited Time.” These short phrases benefited from the font’s distinctive shapes, making them more visually engaging than traditional text. The font’s versatility allowed it to work well in both large and small formats, ensuring consistency across all assets.

Foldish for Digital Ads and Online Shop Campaigns

Digital ads require a strong visual presence, and Foldish delivered exactly that. When designing a series of Facebook and Instagram ads for an online shop, I used the font for headlines and call-to-action buttons. Its irregular edges and folded geometry created a sense of movement that made the ads more dynamic and attention-grabbing.

I also considered the font’s performance on different devices and ad placements. Foldish maintained its clarity even at smaller sizes, which was crucial for mobile users scrolling through feeds. By pairing it with a neutral background and subtle shadows, I ensured the text remained readable without overpowering the image or message.

Foldish for Logo Design and Editorial Projects

Logos and editorial designs often require a font that can communicate a brand’s personality while remaining versatile. Foldish proved to be an excellent choice for a logo that needed to feel both modern and artisanal. Its papercut-inspired design gave the logo a unique, handcrafted quality that stood out in a competitive market.

I also used Foldish for a magazine layout, where it served as a decorative title font. Its irregular shapes added visual interest to the pages, complementing the editorial content without distracting from it. The font’s ability to work in both large and small scales made it a valuable addition to the design toolkit.

Foldish for Packaging Design and Merchandise

Packaging design is all about making a lasting impression. When working on a packaging concept for a new line of stationery, I chose Foldish for the product titles and taglines. Its papercut aesthetic aligned perfectly with the brand’s focus on craft and creativity.

I made sure to test the font in different print sizes and materials, ensuring it remained legible and visually appealing. The result was a packaging design that felt authentic and high-quality, reinforcing the brand’s identity and values.
